PlotLost — Software, Stories & Signals

Ham Study

Learn the material. Practise with purpose.

A native Mac app for US Technician, General and Amateur Extra exam preparation. Official question pools and diagrams, focused practice and local progress—all available offline.

Study your way

Practice and exams

Study every question, revisit bookmarks or focus on weak topics. Practice exams select one question from each required group, with scoring, elapsed time and a review of mistakes.

Profiles and progress

Keep separate local profiles, saved sessions, results and readiness tracking. Mark completed licenses to hide them from study selection, progress and Top 10. Guest attempts remain temporary.

Diagrams and results

Enlarge official diagrams, adjust question text size, practise incorrect answers, and export or print results. Local Top 10 boards rank qualifying exams by score and time; Club Challenge codes give participants matching exams.

Getting started

Extract the ZIP, open the DMG, drag PlotLost Ham Study to Applications and launch it. Choose a question pool, mode and profile, then Start. The included user guide is also available under Help.

Your saved profiles and progress are retained when updating.

System requirements

macOS 13 or later on an Apple silicon Mac (M1 or newer). Internet access is needed for question-pool updates; installed pools work offline.

Official pools, local learning

Includes Technician 2026–2030, General 2023–2027 and Amateur Extra 2024–2028 question pools. The app checks NCVEC at launch and daily while open, validating downloaded questions and diagrams before installation.

If an update needs diagram corrections, Review Diagrams lets you crop each figure from the source sheet and check the questions using it. Corrections apply to that exact document. Your installed pools remain available if an update cannot be verified.
